Product Description

The Reference Series RF-10 home theater system sets a benchmark for value in high-performance loudspeakers. This entry-level setup includes the smallest floorstander Klipsch has ever made, but still pushes the same advanced technology and visual sophistication as its respective predecessors. Consisting of a pair of RF-10 floorstanding speakers, an RC-10 center channel, a pair of RS-10 surround speakers and an RW-8 subwoofer, this recommended home theater system allows more people the opportunity to enjoy the ultimate sound experience in their homes.

The small RF-10 floorstanding speaker uses the same advanced technologies as Klipsch's larger Reference III floorstanders to deliver powerful sound with high sensitivity. It employs dual 4.5-inch woofers and a 1-inch titanium-dome compression driver loaded with a 5-inch square Tractrix horn.

The RC-10 center channel speaker is a great choice for any high-performance home theater system. It employs dual 4-inch woofers and a 1-inch titanium-dome compression driver loaded with a 4-inch square Tractrix horn for maximum clarity and efficiency. It features Klipsch's version of 2.5-way crossover technology, called tapered-array. With tapered-array, the two Cerametallic woofers work together to deliver high impact bass with one driver transitioning out at the mid-range frequencies. This provides more consistent coverage across the listening field, less tonal error and improved dialogue intelligibility.

The RS-10 surround speaker delivers precise sonic detail through the careful positioning of two Tractrix horns loaded titanium-dome tweeters and one 4-inch woofer. By aligning the two horns at 90 degrees with respect to each other, along with the front-firing woofer, the RS-10 smoothly covers a 180-degree horizontal arc, allowing maximum placement flexibility.

The compact RW-8 powered subwoofer delivers strong, clean bass from a decidedly small-footprint enclosure. And because both the driver and the port are at the front of the cabinet, the RW-8 can be placed back against a wall, deep into a corner, or even in custom cabinetry. The 8-inch woofer is powered by a high-efficiency amplifier, capable of 270 watts dynamic power output.

Awesome!

Reviewer: flywithabel,
Just got these. Watching Predator on it right now and it sounds amazing! MW2 is even better but I think the bass might be a bit much playing the game. Tweeter produces great detail along with center and bass is awesome with the sub! Next step... Onkyo 7.2 with another sub! Currently running an old pioneer 5.1 receiver with a polk 10" sub, aperion 4c, and bose 201 for rears. My main issue other than too much bass (if there is such a thing!) is that the biwiring system is a pain in the butt. Otherwise, for the price... its UNBELIEVABLE!
Very good sound

I am thrilled with the sound from this little floorstanders. Clean and strong bass. Clear highs and mids. Match very well with low wattage amplifiers (ours is 50 watts per channel). They are slim and very good looking. Ideal for stereo listening.

Speakers are great, bad description on Amazon's part

Klipsch speakers are simply amazing. I have had a complete set driving by a Yamaha amp for 8 years now. They still sound as good today as they did when I first bought them. The best way to describe the difference between a full Klipsch system and a cheap system you can by in a big box is that both sound good an low volumes but the Klipsch system will be able to sound good and hurt your ears at the same time. You will not be disappointed in your purchase.

Now for the poor description. Amazon is sell just the front floor speaker in this add but if you read their description it sounds like they are selling the entire 5.1 system since they talk about the fronts, center, surrounds, and sub all in the same paragraph. Amazon should change the description to match what they are selling.
Adequate for rear and side speakers

I bought these just to use as rear and side speakers in a 7.1 system. I also tried a pair of them as front speakers, but that will not be a permanent position. They produce reasonably good sound. I do wish they were a little taller so that they would be more at ear level when seated. My plan is to purchase a pair of Klipsch RF-62 speakers and a RC-62 center channel speaker to complete the system. It is interesting to note the speaker frequency specification of these speakers is about the same as the $500 RC-62 center channel speaker. The overwhelming majority of sound in a movie comes out of the center channel and next from the front side speakers. Well, the subwoofer produces all the low frequency sound. I plan to get the RW-12d for the subwoofer. So if a person really believes the published frequency range specifications, he would use these RF-10 speakers for everything except for the center channel and subwoofer. I bought four of these speakers on a previous Amazon sale thinking I got a really good deal, but now the price is even $19 per speaker less than what I paid. So I think $140 per speaker is a steal. I am really tempted to purchase another pair for the front left and right speakers and depend upon the subwoofer to handle everything under 60 Hz.
